Have you ever felt like you were so sad or depressed that nothing could help? Have you tried therapy and left feeling unchanged? Do you ever wonder if there is something else out there that could improve your wellbeing? Maybe you have lost all hope and feel all alone in despair.
There isn't a magic pill to make you happy but there are medications to help treat depression.
SSRI'S (Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitors)
These are medications that increase serotonin in the brain and serotonin is known as the "feel good" neurotransmitter
Included in this class of medications are lexapro, zoloft, prozac, celexa, luvox, and paxil.
BUT AM I REALLY DEPRESSED OR JUST HAVING A BAD DAY?
If you feel sad, worthless, have little or no interest in activities that you once enjoyed, have trouble sleeping, feel low on energy, have decreased motivation, poor appetite (or eating more than usual) and these symptoms have persisted for more than 2 weeks you may have depression, a treatable illness.
"There is hope even when your brain tells you there isn't" – John Green
