If you feel like you worry excessively and find it difficult to control your worry, it may be of benefit to look further into the possibility of having an anxiety disorder. Anxiety is one of the most common disorders and it is responsive to medication management. Many times there are physical symptoms of anxiety such as sweating, fast heart rate, feeling tense in your muscles, pain in your abdomen, headache, and/or digestive problems. You may feel that you have a fear of being in social situations or you have general anxiety regardless of the situation. Perhaps you are always thinking that the worst is going to happen or you are always asking "what if" questions. You might find it difficult to think about anything else besides your worry. Often times sleep will be disrupted by anxiety, you may wake up feeling unrested or have difficulty falling and staying asleep. You also could have difficulty focusing and concentrating making it difficult to complete tasks. If you struggle with any of these symptoms you are not alone. Both therapy and medications can help calm your anxiety.
